COVID-19 Update. We’re here for YOU.


This is a challenging time, there is no doubt about it. But, in this time of much uncertainty, Hanover Bank stands ready to help.  We have no higher priority than the safety of our employees and clients and our social responsibility to the communities we serve.


In support of CDC and governmental guidelines and to limit exposure and practice social distancing in our branches, we have decided to close some of our branches and modify hours of operation in others, click here for details.   Across our offices and branches, we have increased the frequency of cleanings, as well as focusing on high-traffic and high touch areas.


In addition, we have resources in place to provide you continued service in any type of contingency situation.  Our business continuity and pandemic plan is the backbone of this ability which we test and verify annually.


Lastly, our digital banking services help you stay connected to your accounts 24/7.


  • Retail and Business Online Banking is accessible through our website and in addition to providing you real-time access to your account activity and balance information, also allows you to pay bills using bill pay and transfer money between your accounts.


  • Hanovermobile Personal and Hanovermobile Business allow you to bank wherever you are. Our mobile apps offer a lot of the same features as our online banking platforms, including real time account activity, transfers, and bill pay, but also allows you to deposit checks using your mobile device.

The safety and health of our clients and employees is of the utmost importance to us.  We will continue to monitor the news and any reports or requirements from the Centers for Disease Control and local, state and federal governments.  We hope that you and your loved ones remain safe and healthy.


Our branches are open!


Our branches are open with modified hours and in varying degrees.  Please visit modified branch hours regularly as there may times we close a branch or restrict lobby access out of an abundance of caution.   


Here is what you can expect when visiting one of our open branches:


  • There will be a Hanover associate at the entry of each branch to greet you and assist you with our new safety procedures.


  • We are limiting the number of clients allowed in each branch to meet State guidelines.  There may be times where you are asked to wait outside or in your vehicle before we can assist you.


  • All our associates are required to wear a mask or proper face covering and we will require all clients entering the branch to do the same.  Please note, you may be asked to lower your mask briefly for identification purposes.


  • Hand sanitizer will be available for your use while you are visiting.


  • Our branches may look a bit different. We have installed acrylic dividers for added protection as well as signs, floor markings and other messages to promote safety and social distancing.


  • Please be courteous of our associates and other clients by maintaining 6 feet of distance.


  • Some areas will not be accessible to clients, including our restrooms.


  • We will sanitize all high traffic contact points throughout the day, and each branch will be professionally cleaned each evening.

Introducing Curbside Banking at our Garden City Park Branch!


Hanover Bank is excited to announce the addition of curbside banking at our Garden City Park Branch. As we continue to navigate through the current environment and continue to focus on ensuring the safety of our employees and clients, we have implemented curbside banking, where we are bringing the bank to you in the comfort and safety of your vehicle.
To take advantage of this service at our Garden City Park location:


  1. Park in the designated curbside banking spot.
  2. Call the number listed on the sign and provide your curbside parking number.
  3. Provide your request to the Hanover Bank associate.
  4. A Hanover Bank associate will be out to assist you.


Cash transactions are not permitted through our curbside banking service.


Coronavirus Preventative Measures


We encourage our clients to follow guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to help stop the spread of coronavirus and other respiratory viruses:


  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcholol.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve – not your hands.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

Economic Impact Payment


On December 21, 2020, Congress authorized a coronavirus relief package to provide assistance to American consumers and businesses struggling as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. A provision of the law includes sending government payments to eligible Americans.


The Internal Revenue Service is the agency responsible for determining eligibility. For information on eligibility please visit the IRS website.


Paycheck Protection Program Second Draw

On December 21, Congress passed the “Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021” which includes many provisions to assist small businesses, including an expansion of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).

Beware of Coronavirus Scams


Cybercriminals are taking advantage of this uncertain time during the spread of the coronavirus. Remember to be vigilant about communications related to coronavirus (COVID-19). Phishing emails are being sent with malicious attachments and links to fraudulent websites enticing you to provide sensitive information. Also, use caution with social media pleas, texts, calls and donation requests related to COVID-19.


As a reminder, Hanover Bank will never ask you for sensitive account information, such as your password, social security number or account number.
